Showdown in the Council Room

(Same thing as last post, White = Cat, Normal = Me)

I dropped behind Phobia in the council room , saber at her throat" Anyone moves and I take her head" I snarled. I could fel her fear" you should be afraid" I snarled" They won't want their precious angel harmed " I saw the fearful look on Godfrey's face" Oh you'll gt her back"

Standing in alarm, I looked over at the event unfolding. "Great," I said, slipping into my sarcastic Spidey mode, "I have somewhere I've got to go, and you've come along and delayed me!"

I looked up and almost droped the disguise " Don't wory, she won't mind if you're late." I shoved her toard Godfrey and kicked Ronin straight in the face, a roundhouse towards Ionfist. I called my saber to my hands, aiming straight for spider wman, this bitch would be a dead one

I webbed the saber in mid-air. I heard the bells begin. "This is just perfect," I said, using the webbing to hurtle myself at the kidnapper, "I've met her once, and already I'm making a bad impression."

I turned and sidestepped him cloak commingaway I yanked my saber back and unfurled the double blade. " All of you will die before this night is over." I turned, saber blades glowing in the dim light" But you're first spider woman, because you anoyed me" I shot towards her, one blade almost slicing her in half. I dropped one lbade as Dr Strange threw a spell and I called the power orbs to my hand

" Your powers are mine" the mists began to flow from him, soon he was but mere mortal, useless to the avengers

"Damn," I cursed, realizing what happened. "Listen, let's just wrap this up quickly, maybe I can still get there in time." I remember the smile on her face, the way the lights played across that amazing hair. Shakingmy head to snap my head out of it, I shot a web at her. Purposely missing, I lunged forward, shooting another above her head. Shooting into the air above the kidnapper, I let go and used my weight and gravity to add force to my already powerful kick.

I flew acros the room, barely managing to keep ahold of my saber" Ah fuck that hurt" I snarled . Spider woman laughed and I lunged for her sith eyes burning brightly

"Ooh, I'm sorry," I said, "Next time you try to kidnap someone, you should wear more armor."

That did it. I used a tri heel spin kick and sent him across the room. I grabbed Spidr Woman by her hair and shoved my saber straight into her back" Rot in hell bitch" I let her drop and turned on Dr strange next

Struggling onto my feet, I had to give her points for style. I charged headfirst at her, then dropped into a spin to knock her legs out from under her.

I shoved him back with the force stabing Dr Strange. Eyes hunting I turned on Wolveriene who was standing at the ready with Godfrey" You're next" I snarled. I went after Wolveriene and both of us ended up wrestling on the floor . I kneed him in the stomach then a headbutt

Falling back onto the floor again, I think maybe I bit off more than I could chew. "You know, that's a trick I haven't come across yet, I think..." I said, trying to divert her attention to me. This could get nasty...

Wolveriene growled at Spider Man" Don't you get it kid? IT's the same girl! Don't be an idiot!" I socked him in the face and jumped to my feet, wiping the blood off the corner of my mouth. " Shut up!" I snarled. I turned to Spider Man, I truly hoped he didn't believe him

"But, why would she be in the Temple, then?" I asked, shock not quite setting in due to the adrenaline of being in battle. "A-and, how..." I shook my head, "You're just messing with me again, aren't you? Why does everyone think it's so funny to pick on the Spider?" I forced myself not to believe him. It couldn't be true, it just couldn't. That smile could NEVER belong to someone evil.. But then again, have I ever seen any baddy smile a true, genuine smile?

Don't ask me why but I dropped the disguise. I slipped out of the council room and started running for the cherry trees .why did I trusy him?

Forcing myself out of my thoughts, I didn't even see the kidnappers departure. I looked over at Wolverine, "It wasn't her, I know that..." If only I could believe myself. Helping him to his feet, he said he'd take care of finding the medics so I could find the truth out for myself.

I had groomed myself quickly and was sitting at the cherry trees when he arrived

Resting my hands on my knees, I panted out an apology for being late. I knew it wasn't her... I chuckled a bit at my foolishness for even listening to that jerk in the first place.

I smiled softly" It's ok..I heard you had some trouble" My throat tightened. Should I tell him? My heart was torn

"Yeah," I began, feeling a bit of tension in the air. "Ooh, by the way, I never got your name earlier."

I paused" Kat" I said looking away from him eeling a bit shy

"Kat," I said, as if tasting the word in my mouth, "My name's Peter- Uhh.. I mean Spider-man..." Something about her made me want to lose all of my inhibitions.

I paled for a second.. Oh chirst... If I could just rewnd time and forget this stupid plan! But I smiled" Well Spidy, what kind of trouble did you run into? the council wern't specific" I moved my cloak over my sabers. If he recgonized them it's all be over

"Meh," I shrugged, "Just the usual hostage-situation type thing. I hope I didn't keep you waiting too long..."

I shook my head" Oh no.. in fact, I was rather detaned myself. " Shi the scrape on my cheek from wolveriene. Twisting to hide it my saber hilts wee evieled

My eyes went wide behind my mask. He was right, god.. he was RIGHT. Stepping backwards, I shook my head in disbelief. "Please tell me you can explain this..."

For the first time I gave a half shit and a damn . My eyes filled with tears"I'm sorry.. he was right.. I can't. I'm so sory.. take the orbs... they have Drstrange's powers in them.." I set th chests before him and tears falling I ran as fast as I could away

Picking up the chests, I felt numb. I honestly could barely breathe and my vision swam. How could this happen? I was so sure... My legs felt like lead when I finally brought myself around to make my way back to the Temple.

A Chance Encounter (Pt. 2)

(this next part gets somewhat confusing. The text colored white is from Catia's pov, the normal colored is mine.)

I had went back to the temple after taking down wolveriene looking for research holos to help me . I was heading down the hall, the chests of powr orbs and holos flying everywhere When I looked uo I was plesently suprised, I offered my hand for a handshake

Taking her hand, I looked right into her eyes... They were stunning... I barely mumbled out a "Hello"

I was mezmerized. I smiled" Hi... I always said they needed to widen the temple halls"

I chuckled, her smile made me melt. For some reason, I had the incredible urge to rip my mask off and show her my real face. That urge, however, brought me back to reality. I blushed as I remember what I was dressed in. "Uh, my clothes are a long story..."

I smiled" I've seen weirder, my missions with master ja kal brought me to some strange places" I let my hod fall back, a big mistake if any of those idiotssaw me now I'd be dead. The necklace shielded me from Phobia's awareness, unless she was on thesame floor as her

There was that smile again... My heart nearly leaped out of my chest. "Uhh, listen," I began, trying to keep my voice steady, "I'm going to be around today for sure, but I'm not sure about tomorrow. Maybe I can see you later on?"

I smiled" Sure, meet me under the chery trees after 6th chime"

I swallowed and nodded, "I'll be there." His commlink interrupted his final word. The voice that came out called him back to the group.

A soft smile... What the hell was wrong with me? The comlink jerked me to life. I needed to move and fast" I'll see you later" I hurried down the hall dissapearing

Watching her longingly as she went down the hall, I relealized that I never got her name...

A Chance Encounter

While waiting for the airtaxt to return with my comrades, I decided to look around the place a bit. Unfortunately, as soon as I started walking, Spider-woman called after me, "Should you be going anywhere? You'll get lost!" Her voice was starting to grate on my nerves... "I'll be fine!" I called back, without turning around. Anything to get away from her for a bit...

As I wandered, I looked at all the various aliens, and still, for some reason, I felt out of place. Maybe if I had brought some normal clothes, I wouldn't have felt so odd, but a full-body spandex jumpsuit was weird even here. Lost in my thoughts, I wandered throughout the building, not caring if I got lost or not. My spidey senses warned I was about to run into something, but there was no way I could've moved in time. I crashed right into someone, sending their book-like devices scattering all over the floor. "Sorry about that," I muttered sheepishly. I crouched and began to collect the devices. Handing them back to the person I knocked down, I saw she was offering her hand for a handshake.

FINALLY!

(Okay, I am feeling like throwing up as I write this, so excuse me if half of it doesn't make sense ^.^)

Surprisingly, the rest of the trip to the Senate House was fairly uneventful. Spider-woman and I touched down onto the landing before the grand entrance inot the building itself.

"Well, this is it," I said, looking around. Even amongst all the other speices and fashions, I felt very out of place. "Now all we have to do is..."

"Find the Jedi Council." Spider-woman finished with a bit of a frown. Neither of us knew where we'd find them, let alone what thy looked like.

Before we could even think about what we'd do next, a girl of maybe 20-something approached us. She was wearing tan robes and had a flashlight shaped object hanging from her belt. 'Must be the night guard,' I thought.

"You are Spider-man and Spider-woman, aren't you?"

I nodded. This must be one of the Jedi Council...

She bowed slightly and said, "I am to bring you to the Council, but I was under teh impression that there would be more?"

"We're just the scouts," Spider-woman said gesturing betwen the two of us.

The 'escorter' gave us a puzzled look. "But, coudln't you have all just come in an airtaxi?"

DOH.

On the Road Again... Well, sorta

After re-assembling the holo-map, Spider-woman and I put it firmly down on the sidewalk away from where most of the bustle was. Luckily, through all the trouble, she remembered where the "on" button was, and soon, miniature, glowing blue buildings filled the air between us.

Surprisingly, no one was blinded this time...

"Now, which one's the Senate Building?" I asked, arms crossed in confusion.

Spider-woman leaned over the control panel and pushed a few buttons. Before I could stop her, one of the semi-transparent buildings glowed yellow. In the glow of the holo-map, I noticed a prominent smirk on her face.

"I-I would've figured it out eventually..."

"Sure you would've," she replied, and I think I heard a trace of sarcasm somewhere... "Actually, I was the one briefed on how to use it, so I think I had an advantage."

"S-sure, I mean, no one bothered to tell me anything about it. And anyways, how do we know how to get there," I poked a finger in the glowing building, "When we don't even know where we ARE?"

"Simple," she said, leaning back over the console. Suddenly a blinking light burst to life, and within seconds, a big yellow dot began glowing by one of the blue buildings.

Oh.

I studied the map for a few minutes, and when I was fairly sure which way to go, I had Spider-woman pack it up. Soon, we were flying through the air again.

Well, I'm Back!!

The title says it all; I'm back! I think if I had time to check my comments before my relatives got here, I might've taken Cat up on her offer... Yes, it was horrible, as all visits are, but I'm here, and I survived! There'll be a new post up tomorrow, right now, I'm beat...

Laying Low

I've got unexpected relatives coming up... *groan* This means there will be no room in my house without a ton of people in them at any given time...

ANYWAYS... What I'm basically saying, is that I'm going to bey laying low for awhile,... just a few days at the most. ;)

This is Why I Work Alone.

Making sure Spider-woman was holding on tight (but not too tight) I took a running start towards the edge of the platform and leaped. I knew this would be a long trip, because she kept saying, "Are you sure you should be swinging into traffic? I don't think you have the right license to do that! Turn there! Watch out for that ship!"

Nag. Nag. Nag.

"Listen, I know what I'm doing. I swing around all the time in New York," I said, trying to be calm.

"Does New York have flying cars?"

She had a point. Unfortunately, I was distracted from any witty comebacks because she decided to start up the "holo-map" or whatever they sent us through that wormhole. At first she couldn't get it working, turning it over in her hands, looking for a button. And guess what, she found the button. Just my luck that it was pointed straight at me when the lights flared to life. If I could see, I would notice the little glowing routes zigzagging through the transparent blue buildings, but it was so bright, I swear I was temporarily blinded.

"Point that thing away from me!" I shouted, trying to push it away, now swinging blindly through traffic with one hand as the other fought with the holo-map.

"What are you doing?" she shouted right back, "I got it working!" Ripping my hand away, she held it up, now once again shining in my eyes, to show me.

As if I didn't believer her before...

"I can't see!" I yelled, but the horns blaring at us and the roar of engines kept her from getting the message. Worked into a state of near-panic, I tried once again to push the map so that it would point downwards. What happened next was truly a mystery. We both can climb straight up a vertical wall using only our fingertips, but for some reason, we couldn't hold on to the map.

Great.

I landed us onto one of the sidewalk platforms and told her to wait there. Before she could nag-- I mean protest, I dived headfirst after it. Using my webshooters, I latched onto what I thought was a landing platform, and pulled myself down for extra speed. Again, it was just my luck that that so called platform was really of those air trucks.

Oops.

It quickly accelerated, yanking me into an uncontrollable head-over-feet fall, slamming into and bouncing off passing ships. As soon as I was fairly sure which way was up and which way was down, I shot a web at the alien letters of a neon sign. Realizing that the heat of the lights was melting the web, I shot another straight down and latched onto the lens part of the holo-map. Nothing seemed to go right, because, guess what? The lens popped off.

Again, oops.

Using a now-stationary car as leverage, I shot straight down at where the lens was hurtling back up, and grabbed it. Keeping a firm grip on it, I determinedly shot another web out and this time, got the whole holo-map to bungee back towards me. But, just as things felt like they were going right, they fell apart again. Before I could grab it, it rocketed straight past my head, and onto the sidewalk platforms up above.

Need I say it again?

Swallowing my pride, I made my way back up to the sidewalk where I left Spider-woman. Reaching my hand onto her shoulder to get her attention, I took a deep breath.

"You'll never guess what happened--"

Just then, she turned around holding the holo-map. A smirk touched her lips. "I think I can guess what happened." She ignored my stammering by continuing, "I caught this, but I lost the lens. Did you see what happened to it?"

Silently and ashamed, I held out the web-covered lens.

"Well," she started, picking the web off, "At least it's not cracked..."

Here We Go...

Shortly after Spider-woman and I got the orders, I began running towards the edge of the landing platform. A shout stopped me in my tracks.

"Wait!" Spider-woman called frantically.

"What?" I shot back, a tad bit annoyed. Swinging around this city... planet... thing... was something I was starting to look forward to.

"Umm..." she started, rubbing her arms and looking down at her feet, "I can't exactly.. um... swing like you can."

OOPS.

"Should I just stay beh--"

"You can stick to walls, right? 'Cause if you can't why are you called SPIDER-Woman?" I asked, fighting the urge to laugh.

"Of course!"

I could feel her anger seeping out from behind her mask. Maybe I should learn to keep my mouth shut...

"Nevermind, I'll just stay behind." she turned in a huff and started stomping back towards the group.

"Wait," what was I saying?! "Come here, I need help navigating this city... or planet or whatever. I've swung around carrying someone before. It should be even better this time because you can stick to things, and I won't have to hold you?"

"Right," she nodded, smiling while walking back towards where I had stopped before.

"Now don't get any ideas... I'm a taken man..."

"Right," she said again. Somehow I knew there was a wink involved somewhere.

I swear, I get no respect from these guys...

And I thought the journey was over...

"So..." I asked the rest of the group, "When are we leaving?"

"We just got here!" Wolverine snarled in annoyance.

"I know that, what I meant was, when do we head to that meeting?" it was a good thing I was wearing a mask, because I rolled my eyes knowing full well ol' Wolfie wouldn't appreciate it. BEsides, I'm glad he couldn't see it, cause frankly, I'm scared to death of him.

Anyways, Cage set us straight that we had to appear before this "Galactic Senate" the sooner the better. After a few unsuccessful attempts to hail a cab, (They float! Isn't it awesome?) we decided to make our way as best as we could with the odd three-dimensional map they sent us. It would've been faster if I could've just swung on ahead, but apparently we're a 'unified team...' Last time I even mentioned anything like that, I got an hour lecture on how we superheroes have to stick together, and some of us aren't gifted with super travelling ablities, and yada yada yada... After three hours of backtracking and travelling up and down turbolifts, Cage finally agreed that Spider-Woman and I should swing ahead and send a cab back. This should be fun...

My Wonderful Arrival

Stepping off the ship, I realized just how much this place reminded me of back home, New York. Taking a deep breath, I tried to soak in the strange feeling of actually being on another planet. Spider-woman broke me out of my thoughts by murmuring, "Coruscant... it's like one giant city..." I only nodded because I was struck by the vastness of it all myself. I mean, come on, I'm a New Yorker, and I was struck by the enormity!

Well, anyways, we're here, the Avengers. Led by Luke Strange, we're basically your average jumble of superheroes; Doctor Strange, Iron Fist, Ronin, Spider-Woman, Wolverine, and of course, myself, Spider-man. Hopefully, I won't get lost before I can report to where ever the "Galactic Senate" is...

The Start of a Beautiful Friendship?

*takes a deep breath in* Aahh... nothin' like the new blog smell, eh? Anyways, this is a blog where the description literally speaks for itself! Normally, I'll be keeping quiet, but I'll post news and other random shit every once in awhile.

I hope you enjoy! ^__^
